Minister for Schools Stephen Twigg joins Chief Executive of the National Eczema Society Margaret Cox and teacher Beryl Mooney to support the new eczema education Pack.

National Eczema Society Launch New School Pack

"When I was at primary school, I was the only one in my class with eczema.  I hated feeling different from everyone else - like when I couldn't go swimming or people would stare at my legs when we played sports.  Other children used to call me names, because I looked different."

Sadly an all too familiar story, but we do hear positive stories from mothers and children praising their schools, teachers and fellow pupils alike.

The NES has risen to the challenge to provide information for schools in an accessible format and has launched a pack aimed at children and their teachers giving all the important key messages in an interactive format.

The new pack is designed in lesson plan format, tied into the National Curriculum and has different sections for primary, junior and secondary schools.  The pack has been extensively trialled in schools at all age groups, to ensure the information and activities are appropriate and suitable - at a practical level - for classroom use.
