Clare has the golden touch with family fundraiser
Having watched her youngest son Lewis suffer with chronic eczema since he was just three months old, Clare Hicks from Northampton was determined to raise vital funds for the National Eczema Society.
“We’ve experienced first hand the highs and lows of caring for a loved one with eczema and were therefore keen to support the Society to ensure that there continues to be somewhere that people can turn to for advice and support in the years to come.”
Three months of planning saw Clare, with the support of family and friends, throw open the doors of Wootton Working Men’s Club on the 29th August to over 200 people for a fun-filled family fundraiser.
Cake, jewellery, cuddly toy, video and bric-a-brac stalls did a roaring trade while a raffle and all day BBQ kept visitors well fed and entertained! Clare also sold a range of National Eczema Society merchandise including magnets, Christmas cards and t-shirts. £900 was raised on the day and Clare would like to say a big thank you to everyone who provided a willing pair of hands both in the run up to the event and on the day itself.
