Don’t miss out on your March issue of Exchange - 2/3/09

The March edition of Exchange, the National Eczema Society members’ magazine, has just been published and is packed with useful articles for all those affected by eczema. The quarterly magazine is free for members or £5 to non-members. Included in Exchange 132:

- Tales from the palace - Primrose Wyborn collects her MBE for services to eczema.

- The Centre of Evidence Based Dermatology in Nottingham reveals a new programme of eczema research.

- Jade Pickard describes her life-long battle with the itch.

- Medical herbalist, Alex Laird, from Whipps Cross University hospital, looks at the role of herbal medicine in treating eczema.

- PhD student Kate Bennett reports on her research project into defective skin barrier function at the Institute of Child Health, University College London.

Apart from leading articles on eczema, the magazine offers ‘diary dates’ and ‘around the regions’ to help find a local event or support group as well as members’ letters, a FAQ section from our Information Department and x-talk for our younger readers.

A new programme of independent eczema research - 26/2/09

Research into eczema is set to receive a huge boost following the news that the Centre of Evidence-Based Dermatology at the University of Nottingham has been awarded a £2 million research funding award.

Part of this research programme will examine eczema prevention and treatment (as well as other  disease areas such as skin cancer and vitiligo).
