Eczema education in Liverpool

During National Eczema Week, the Liverpool Support Group put on an education event at Broadgreen Hospital. The aim was to help those with eczema through the Society’s booklets and factsheets, explaining about the charity’s Helpline and offering advice and guidance.
The regular group members were also joined by newcomer Amanda Moore (pictured here with Mike Birch, the group’s organiser).
The Liverpool eczema Support Group have changed venues for 2009. The group, which formed back in 1992, have had a range of venues down the years including meeting in people’s homes and a City Centre nightclub! From 1994, the support group moved to Allerton Library where meetings were held in January, May and September.
More recently, it was agreed to have future meetings at nearby Picton Neighbourhood Health Centre. The Centre is a modern building with rear parking as well as being on main bus routes. The room itself holds about 30 people in boardroom layout and has presentation facilities and water available. Support on Merseyside for Eczema

Pictured above is Dr Sandra Winhoven and her dermatology team at Newton Community Hospital, Merseyside. They kindly joined other UK healthcare professionals in promoting National Eczema Week and ensuring our information on eczema - including the new Itching & Scratching booklet - reaches as many people as it can.
