Dupilumab: first biologic treatment for atopic eczema

The National Eczema Society is delighted that the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) has now approved the biologic drug Dupilumab for routine use on the NHS in England and Wales.

The first new drug treatment for atopic eczema in many years, Dupilumab offers real hope to people living with more severe eczema. Eligible patients should be able to access Dupilumab on the NHS by 31 August 2018.

For further information about Dupilumab, please have a look at our Dupilumab factsheet.

The Scottish Medicines Consortium (SMC) is due to publish its decision on whether Dupilumab is to be accepted for use by NHS Scotland on 10 September.
