Donation envelopes are simple and effective; they provide an easy way of tax efficient giving. The Gift Aid scheme allows us to reclaim tax paid on donations given by UK taxpayers so is hugely beneficial to the charity especially during these financially challenging times!
If you are holding a fundraising event; no matter what size the gathering; large or small, we can provide you with a number of donation envelopes. You ask your supporters to put their donation in the envelope and fill in the back with their name and address; then sign and date it. Having current names and addresses is a legal requirement required by Her Majesty’s Revenue and Customs (HMRC).
Basic rate tax is currently 20% which means that every £1 donated to charity is worth £1.25 with a Gift Aid Declaration. Until 2011, HMRC is giving a supplement of 3p in every £1 which brings the total for charity to £1.28.
