Several Steps closer to a cure .........

set out on such a massive challenge and feat of endurance.  The South Walk Coastal Path is a 630 mile walk along the rugged, but beautiful South West Coast line.  The team hope to complete the walk by the beginning of June.  The 630 miles will take them from Minehead to Poole Harbour around the coast via Land’s End and the Lizard. 

The team has set itself a massive fundraising target of £10,000 to support  this rather neglected condition and would obviously love some help with fundraising and donations.  Click HERE if you would like to show your appreciation with a donation; do bear in mind this is an extraordinary endurance effort over a fairly short time period; these walkers will be averaging around 17-18 miles every day for 37 consecutive days so please give as generously as you can.

As well as the team of walkers, they have in place a wonderful back up team who will follow them with a vehicle allowing them to walk without the need to carry any kit.  The team is ready, the logistics are sorted so now what’s needed is support by way of donations.  Let’s wish them lots of luck.

On Good Friday, 22nd April 2011, a team of intrepid walkers led by Stephen and Roddy Jenkins, will be setting out from the West Somerset resort of Minehead, on a walk skirting the South West coast.  The team is undertaking the walk in an effort to raise funds for the National Eczema Society and help them to facilitate and support research into this skin condition.

Roddy Jenkins has suffered all his life from chronic eczema (“boiling of the skin”) which, for him, has meant skin breakdown, immune system complications, a variety of allergies and much suffering along the way.  Roddy is also partially sighted.
