June Exchange is here - 22/6/09

Our latest members’ magazine, Exchange, has now arrived through the post - the June issue is packed with relevant articles concerning eczema as well as usual popular items such as members’ letters, reports of local activities from regional groups and x-talk for our younger readers. Here’s what’s in June’s Exchange:
National Eczema Week 2009 - what’s happening for our annual awareness week and how you can help
John Fuller explores coping strategies for the warm summer months
Clinical Nurse Specialist Sandra Howard from Roehampton Hospital looks at the role of topical steroids
Stefan Shmelik examines the benefits of Chinese herbal medicine
Mum Rachel Fagg shares her experience of caring for a child with eczema and the use of story-telling as a form of distraction.
If you’d like the June issue of Exchange magazine then it’s one of the many benefits from joining as a member for £20 a year. We will be adding the June Exchange to our shopping cart should you want just the magazine or back issues to read through.

National Eczema Society at the Allergy Show 2009 - 18/6/09
The Allergy and Gluten Free Show 2009 was for people with food allergies and intolerance, sensitive skin, eczema, asthma, hayfever and the health professionals who treat them. Each year, the National Eczema Society has a stand at the three-day event allowing members of the public to learn more about the Society does, take away some information on eczema or join up as members.
This year, the event ran from 12th to 14th June and was held at Olympia 2 in West London. The Society had volunteers helping out on all three days and it was a great opportunity to meet past and current members of the Society as well as talking to those that needed advice and help with their eczema. Our thanks to all those that joined up as members or bought T-shirts, teddies and badges - all of which proved very popular! For anyone who wanted to see us at the event but weren’t able to attend then you can always call our freephone Helpline on 0800 089 1122 for advice and to request information.
