Marathon success for our London runners - 29/4/09

John Hallett

It was an unseasonably hot Sunday morning to run a Marathon around the streets of London but many congratulations to the 2009 Eczema Team who all made it to the finishing line: Ben, Carol, Debbie, John, Lindsay, Livvy, Paul, Ritchie, Steve and Tracey.

The National Eczema Society was out in force to cheer on the runners at Canary Wharf among Elvis, Darth Vader and Superman to name but a few. For our ten entrants, who raised thousands of pounds between them to help support those with eczema, it was a superb effort and all the training and hard work got everyone round the famous course.

TAKE PART IN 2010...

For those of you inspired by what our 2009 runners have done, you can now find out next year’s London Marathon which will take place on 25 April, 2010. The race will be sponsored by Virgin and they have a website where you can find out about training and running for charity - www.virginlondonmarathon.com.

The process

The ballot  for the 2010 race was filled in record time and is now closed so for those that entered, Virgin will let you know in October whether you have been given a place.

If not, our charity has a select few places reserved for runners and those interested should then get in touch on 020 7281 3553. If you have any questions not answered via Virgin’s Marathon website, you can call their helpline: 020 7902 0200.
